Reflection is personal. Here’s how your information is handled when you use Intuitive or visit this website.
Effective October 12, 2026 · Operated by JT Smith
Your journal stays on your device.
Intuitive stores your journal entries and app settings locally on the device where you use the app. You do not need to create an Intuitive account, and Intuitive does not provide a developer-hosted journal storage or sync service.
Your entries can include dates, titles, moods, notes, answers to reflection questions, and text generated during a guided reflection. Sensitive journal fields and saved cloud API keys are encrypted in the app’s local storage. Some operational information, such as dates, entry status, and the selected provider, is stored without that field-level encryption.
Device access, operating-system backups, and any copies you make are also part of keeping your journal private. Field-level encryption does not replace your device’s passcode or other security protections.
AI is optional. You choose where it runs.
You can write a freeform reflection without AI. Guided reflections require you to choose an AI provider and allow it to process your reflection in the app’s AI settings.
- On-device AI: When supported by your device and selected in settings, reflection prompts and responses are processed on your device. Intuitive does not automatically switch to a cloud provider if local processing fails.
- Cloud AI: If you choose OpenAI or Anthropic and connect your own API key, Intuitive sends the context needed for a guided reflection directly to that provider. This can include the entry date, mood, title, notes, questions, answers, and earlier branches of the reflection. The provider also receives the connection information needed to handle the request, such as your IP address and API account credentials.
A connection test sends a small test prompt, rather than journal content, to the selected provider. Cloud API use may incur charges through your provider account.
Cloud providers process information under their own terms and policies. Their retention and use of API data depend on their service and your account settings. Review OpenAI’s privacy policy or Anthropic’s privacy policy before sharing personal or sensitive information. Intuitive’s developer does not receive a copy of these AI requests through an Intuitive server.
You control your information.
You can read your saved reflections in the app and delete individual entries. You can change providers or turn off permission for AI processing in AI settings; turning off permission does not itself send a prompt.
Local information is kept until you delete it or remove the app’s local data. Deleting an entry from Intuitive does not delete copies in device backups or information already sent to a cloud provider. Contact that provider for requests concerning information it holds.
The developer cannot retrieve or recover your locally stored journal. For privacy questions, including requests about support correspondence, contact the address below.
When you contact support.
If you email us, JT Smith receives your email address and any information you choose to include, such as your name, device details, attachments, or a description of a problem. That information is used to respond to you and resolve the issue. Email is handled through Gmail and its service providers.
Please avoid sending journal content or API keys. If a screenshot helps explain a problem, remove personal information first. Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle your request and related follow-up; you can ask us to delete it, subject to any applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your journal or support information, and we do not use it for advertising.

If this policy changes.
We will publish updates here and change the effective date. If a change affects how the app handles your information, this policy will describe the new practice.
